Reclamation:
A Sacred Group Photo Ritual
Radical self-love summons us to be our most expansive selves, knowing that the more unflinchingly powerful we allow ourselves to be, the more unflinchingly powerful others feel capable of being. Our unapologetic embrace of our bodies gives others permission to unapologetically embrace theirs
-Sonya Renee Taylor
The dominant culture we live in is disembodied — asking us to look outside ourselves for our worth, pulling us away from the wisdom and inherent sacredness of our bodies. This toxic culture rooted in separation benefits when we remain disconnected from ourselves, one another, and the Earth.
The good news is that we were born to be in right relationship with ourselves, each other and the planet. We have agency in how we respond to these exploitive systems.
The stories of separation can often find a home deep within our minds and bodies—lingering within our shadow self. When these myths are witnessed with tenderness and compassion, they lose their grip. The shame that was never ours to hold can decay and then become fertile ground for our RECLAMATION journey.
Every moment of embodied presence interrupts generations of conditioning and plants seeds for a more connected and liberated world. Every time we choose to love ourselves we are inspiring others to walk the path with us. Which is why we created Reclamation, we know a more hopeful, beautiful and liberated world is possible. We’re ready to reclaim, with you.
